Project Tree Planting

Sep. 5, 2012

Our new indigenous tree nursery on Amu Ranch is working to rehabilitate areas that have been devastated by illegal logging and unsustainable slash and burn agriculture by illegal squatters.

To combat these devastating activities daily ranger patrols are deployed throughout Amu Ranch preventing further destruction, whilst the indigenous tree nursery is rehabilitating illegally logged and cleared areas, by producing hundreds of saplings.

The Amu team has been on a special tree planting mission to a beautiful oxbow lake on Amu Ranch, which was rapidly devastated by illegal logging and clearing. The field team has now planted thousands of indigenous trees to help regenerate the most damaged areas and are waiting to see the fruits of their labours.
